What do we do when we reach the end of our rope?
Who do we turn to when the going gets rough,
Who or what is it that gives us back our hope
Where do we go when all we can say is enough?
Some will go to what man says will do the trick
They will indulge themselves in many evil things,
They will pay almost anything to get fixed quick
But is it real joy and hope that these bring?
Some will choose to give up, choose not cope
They will stay in that shallow but endless rut,
They will sit in their bitterness and just mope
But they are always looking down instead of up
I like to think there is another and better way
It is the reason why Jesus our Saviour was sent,
It is why He put the Holy Spirit in us to stay
At the end of our rope is the hem of His garment!
