my target audience is to challenge the mature believer to greatness
“Jesus gave him back to his mother.” Luke 7:15 NEB
As Jesus approached Nain accompanied by a large crowd of followers, he ran into another large crowd of mourners in a funeral procession. As the two crowds merged, Jesus focused all his attention on one lone person; the mother of the deceased. At that moment, he comprehended her horrific loss and “his heart went out to her.” (Verse 13) This deep compassion for an unknown lady in anguish triggered a radical response: he raised the dead man…and “gave him back to his mother.”
What is the testimony of the witnesses? “God has shown his care for his people.” (Verse 16)
We have all had precious people or things stolen by the enemy. The enemy stole my husband; Jesus gave me a better one. The enemy stole children from me; Jesus has given me countless children and now grandchildren. The enemy has stolen our finances. Even as I write, Jesus is restoring. Whatever the enemy has stolen, Jesus retrieves and restores.
Praise his holy Name!
