My first time on faithwriters. I believe that those of us who have a passion for writing and want to improve appreciate everyone who reads, and all critique, so that our writing can truly touch those around us in a special way and bring glory to God.

Thank you to everyone who critiqued my poem here. It is greatly appreciated!
The sky turned black the day my savior died
Maryís tears fell, as hellís gates opened wide

And though He asked that the cup be taken away
Godís perfect plan was in motion that day.
So the man who was blameless,
who lived without sin.
was torn from His father,
as He obediently walked in.

Pain in His body. Despair in His soul
Such loneliness He bore, that I might be whole.
He suffered the punishment, the guilt,
and the shame
for the sins Iíve committed Ė too many to name.

He went all alone on that desolate day
and faced pure evil
While the Holy One turned away.
For God did not go where He sent His Son -
It was the only way for the battle to be won.

So my Savior, my Jesus, bore all my disgrace
That in my eternity
I might see Godís face.
