Happy Birthday Jesus (Revised)
By: Rick A. Flowers
You were born into this world
So many years ago
Of flesh and blood, a gift from God
The Gospel tells us so
For miles your parents traveled
In search of a place to stay
But every door they knocked upon
These words they heard them say
Iím sorry my friend there is no room
No room for you in the Inn
So they turned away in sorrow
Longing for the journeyís end
They prayed that at the next stop
Theyíd be greeted with a smile
They felt they couldnít make it
Another long and dreary mile
When they knocked upon the door
And asked if there was room
The Inn Keeper said Iím sorry
And their faces filled with gloom
But wait he said, there is a place
Itís just across the way
Itís just a lonely stable
But at least somewhere to stay
With thanks they turned away
The journey was at end
The stable wasnít far
Just up and around the bend
It wasnít long after they arrived
The moment of your birth
No one could know the meaning
And how you would change the earth
So happy birthday Jesus
Godís gift beyond compare
Because of him weíll see you
With the angles in the air
