Each of us has a responsibility to take care of our health. Today we have available the finest advanced medicine in history. God gave us humans an advanced brain. (quote from Mrs Gordon): "Experience teaches that the more we use our brain the more benefits we derive. When humans take advantage of the super barain power God hs given us we are guaranteed longer lives."
No one disputes that God is likely more pleased with those of us who work hard than with those of us who are lazy and useless. He expects us to study and learn and develop our brain and He expects us to learn a trade and work to adequately support our families, but He also expects us to balance our time and care for our bodies.
Have you ever seen an older person that worked hard, was able to retire from a working career, but immediately begins another career and continues to work hard just to make more money?
He never takes a vacation. He refuses to get a complete medical check-up every six to twelve months. He remarks that it must be nice for others to take vacations.
My God created everything and continues to create everything. If He didn’t want each of us to slow-down when we get older, He would not have allowed us to establish our Social Security system that clicks into action around age 60-65. He would not have allowed us to establish our Retirement Plans that click into action after 25 to 30 years of employment. At this age our brain should be ‘kicking into action’…and we should be slowing down…and caring for our health more as we offer security to our love ones. Humans are expected to think.
The next time you chat with one of these oldies that is still working and never taking a vacation, ask him, “Do your every think about your health and what will likely happen if you kick-the-bucket. Do you know that another man will likely come along and meet your wife and use (your) money for his vacation?”
Actions speak louder than words. Encourage God to smile.
