TITLE: I Just Don't Understand This

I want to critique my punctuation. Tell me how I could write this better? Did I give enough description? Did I hold your interest? did I ramble?
It was a sunny hot afternoon, there was not a cloud in the sky. Jenny and I decided to go down to the lake. While she put her swimsuit on, in the women's rest room, I sat on the dock, and took my shoes off, and put my feet into the water. Ahh, it felt good to stick my feet in the water.

Jenny, who was always a comedian, had a plan. The next thing I knew I heard the sound of someone running up to me. I got up and turned to look, it was Jenny. With a smile on her face she pushed me, and I fell into the lake.

I just don't understand this? Just like I fell into the water, I fell into the role as an encourager. I don't know how to explain it? I have encouraged family members, and now the Lord has given me the task of encouraging a local leader of a non-profit. Why would someone come to me for encouragement? Especially, when I know I am not the smartest person in the world.

Maybe, It might be because I have gone through hard times? Like my mom committing suicide, or my dad leaving his third wife. There are people who seem to have an easy life, and then there are people like me, who are always going through hard times.

Maybe, the pain I have experienced was intended to help other people. Just like Job did in old testament days. His life was intended to touch people, and maybe my life was to.
