This is a song I wrote about how we could never attain the greatness of God, but we can strive to be like Him. Amen?
You said that You’d come back,
Before You left that day,
But its not that time yet,
And oh Lord, I’ve lost my way.
You died for me,
To set me free,
Then you rose again,
To give new life…
From the dead,
You came walking out so clean and bright….
And I could never attain, Your greatness,
But I can strive to be like You,
Doing all that you told me to do,
And I could never deserve Your grace,
But you give it anyway,
So I accept it gratefully and face down I pray,
Just to be like you,
I want to worship Your majesty,
And tell everyone of Your mercy,
Glory to Your name,
I sing glory hallelujah,
Because I have seen Your light and now I praise Your name.
You’ve forgiven me,
Even when I knew I was wrong,
And I’m so unworthy,
But I want to serve you my whole life long,
You paid the price,
For my sin,
And for my shame,
That is why,
I call upon Your name Jesus….
I’ve been purified,
By the blood of Jesus Christ,
I’m going to live my life,
By His word, and doing what’s right,
He’ll come again,
When time on this earth comes to an end,
Are you ready, to go home?
You better be ready,
Because all the believers will be gone that day…
(Chorus 2 times)
