This is something I wrote in my journal when I was in the midst of coming back to the Lord. I think this could be a good song. Let me know what you think and if there's any way I could improve it. Thanks a bunch!
Iíve been roaming this wilderness so long.
Trying to find my way home,
but every turn I make seems wrong.
Iíve stumbled in the darkness
and Iíve fallen to my knees.
Iím searching for a Savior,
someone to bring me some peace.
Sometimes my past creeps up on me
and through my tears pain is all I see.
I donít know where Iím going
and I donít want to go back
to where I used to be.
Jesus, Iím calling out to You,
please come and set me free!
Lord, Iím seeking for You tonight,
please show me Your mercy
and be my Guiding Light.

I don't know how long
this journey will take
but I know I'll need You with me
every step of the way.
Wrap Your arms around me
and hold me close.
Cradle me and carry me
through the times I need You most.
Lord, I know You have a plan for me
and in Your sweet time,
my blind eyes will see.

Iíll choose Your road
even when the path gets rough.
As long as You stay near,
it will be enough.
Thereís no way I can travel this road
without taking a single fall
But if Youíre here to catch me
I know once again I will stand tall.
When I feel all alone
and the road ahead seems dim
I will lift my hands to You
and I know You will pick me up again.
If Youíre with me
I know thereís nothing I canít get through.
With You on my side,
I will not lose.

I don't know how long
this journey will take
but I know I'll need You with me
every step of the way.
Wrap Your arms around me
and hold me close.
Cradle me and carry me
through the times I need You most.
Lord, I know You have a plan for me
and in Your sweet time,
my blind eyes will see.

When the hill ahead seems too steep,
When the river to be crossed seems too deep,
When I donít feel I have the strength
to make it around the bend
You will gently remind me that some day
this hard road will come to an end.
Until it does You will help me along
and in the midst of my trouble
You will stand strong!

I don't know how long
this journey will take
but I know I'll need You with me
every step of the way.
Wrap Your arms around me
and hold me close.
Cradle me and carry me
through the times I need You most.
Lord, I know You have a plan for me
and in Your sweet time,
my blind eyes will see.

Yes Lord, in Your time
I know I will see.
