Do you want the world to be a better place?
Then let's all learn to forgive and forget.
FORGIVE AND FORGET
It seems that we don't see our sins -
For Satan blinds our eyes;
Sins of others we quickly tend
To loathe and despise.
Any sins that they commit are
The grossest of their kind,
We tell others all about it – saying,
"They must have lost their mind."
We keep a list of all their sins -
For us it’s like a game,
Allowing their sins to bug us - until
We almost go insane.
The Lord never wanted us to
Keep a record of wrongs,
He'd rather hear our voices raised
In praise and worship songs.
He wants us to work on being
The best that we can be;
Then help the lost to find their way
And their blind eyes to see..
If our gentle, loving Savior
Could hang upon a tree,
Saying,"Father forgive." And then
Dying for you and me,
Surely we can do the same thing
When people go astray.
Instead of being vindictive
And wanting to repay.
The Bible says,"Forgive as you’d
Have others forgive you."
And you can trust God’s Word - for you’ll
Find ev’ry Word is true.
The world would be a better place
For all of us to live,
If we'd all take the time to learn
To love, forget and forgive.
