We are given choices throughout life,
That build character and esteem.
Sometimes they’re overwhelming,
At least that’s how it seems.
One of life’s decisions,
In a family full of strife,
Is do I want this to continue?
Do I choose this kind of life?
Or do I break the chains,
Of burden that I feel,
And turn to God and those who care,
To help my heart to heal?
Do I start a legacy,
To leave to those behind?
A legacy that shows,
A man that’s good and kind.
A legacy that says,
It stops with me right here.
I choose to make good choices,
No matter when or where.
They say a man’s character,
Shows most when he’s alone,
Does he choose right from wrong
Or act wrecklessly on his own?
So, make that choice today,
Ask for God’s guidance as you go.
He’ll be there every step of the way,
Listen and He’ll let you know.
You'll feel Him tug at your heart
Letting you know what’s right in His eyes.
You’ll know in your heart, before your head,
If the choice made was one that was wise.
Don’t get caught in the web of the past,
Step up and start a new trend.
Make your life one to be proud of,
Make God your new best friend.
He'll take you as you are,
He’ll bless and guide you, you'll see.
Choose to believe and follow His Word,
He'll make you the best that you can be.
Remember, He chooses to love you,
He has plans for you for God’s sake.
I pray you’ll follow Him and His Word,
It’s the best choice you’ll ever make.
