God laid this on my heart after hearing about a teenager who was having trouble making good choices. A good kid needing much prayer.
We are given choices throughout life,
That build character and esteem.
Sometimes theyíre overwhelming,
At least thatís how it seems.
One of lifeís decisions,
In a family full of strife,
Is do I want this to continue?
Do I choose this kind of life?
Or do I break the chains,
Of burden that I feel,
And turn to God and those who care,
To help my heart to heal?
Do I start a legacy,
To leave to those behind?
A legacy that shows,
A man thatís good and kind.
A legacy that says,
It stops with me right here.
I choose to make good choices,
No matter when or where.
They say a manís character,
Shows most when heís alone,
Does he choose right from wrong
Or act wrecklessly on his own?
So, make that choice today,
Ask for Godís guidance as you go.
Heíll be there every step of the way,
Listen and Heíll let you know.
You'll feel Him tug at your heart
Letting you know whatís right in His eyes.
Youíll know in your heart, before your head,
If the choice made was one that was wise.
Donít get caught in the web of the past,
Step up and start a new trend.
Make your life one to be proud of,
Make God your new best friend.
He'll take you as you are,
Heíll bless and guide you, you'll see.
Choose to believe and follow His Word,
He'll make you the best that you can be.
Remember, He chooses to love you,
He has plans for you for Godís sake.
I pray youíll follow Him and His Word,
Itís the best choice youíll ever make.
