This was a point in my life where I didn't want to do anything, for anyone if there was nothing in it for me. I was fifteen at the time, and had been a Christian for a year. Then I realized that Jesus did everything for everybody and there was nothing in it for him.
Maybe
Maybe You don't want to try not to sin,
rather,live your life,then, be born again;
Maybe you don't want to just change your ways,
Have no worries for the rest of your days;
Maybe you think to believe in Him is silly,
to believe in something that you can't see;
Maybe you know better, but you just don't care,
Because you think He'll make your life unfair.
Well, maybe He didn't want to be perfect,
Through his whole life being able to predict;
Maybe He didn't want to go through strain,
of healing all those blind and all those lame.
Maybe He didn't want to hang on a cross,
forgive all the sin of all us lost.
Maybe He doesn't want to hold all the pain,
because what's in it for Him, what is His gain?
-But He did.
