This article looks at one specific part of the Lords Payer and gives an interpretation. Your thoughts please.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven, Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever. Amen
The Lords Prayer can be found in full in Matthew 6:10-14 & Luke 11:2-4 but the above passage is what we all know it to be as we say it in mass every Sunday.
The verse I want to dwell on today is: “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” My interpretation of how God sitting in heaven would like to see earth as HE would have it is as follows in our daily lives today:
A Kingdom where everyone is in unity & harmony
A Kingdom where no one is ill but in full health
A Kingdom where no crime exists & communities are safe
A Kingdom where everyone has a relationship with God than other Gods or devil worship
A Kingdom where everyone is employed rather than unemployed
A Kingdom where everyone has financial security rather than be in destitute
A Kingdom where there is more faith than fear
A Kingdom where there is more peace than violence, hate and anger
A Kingdom where there is justice and no injustice
A Kingdom where there is love, hope & vision for people
A Kingdom that has the attitude of Christ Jesus in their daily lives
A Kingdom where the Spirit of God is evident in communities & where Gods hand is upon everything that happens because God is at the centre not mans will
A Kingdom where Gods law is what people live up to and there is no need to have new laws in nations of the world and have enforcers because people won’t break Gods law
If this is the Kingdom God would want, if so clearly earth have fallen short of heavens Glory all because of Man’s sin? Imagine a Kingdom where in our lives from the day we were born to the day we were born to the day we meet our creator everything is accomplished that he would want us to have for every minute we live. Just imagine it people of God.
Today we pray in Jesus Name in the days ahead that the Lords will can be achieved through the precious blood of God, there will be a move of God in our personal life and the communities where we live, where there has been periods of darkness let the light of Jesus be known & shown and HE alone who has the power to raise people up will do this through HIS power and each person will renew a covenant vow to you our Lord & Saviour. Amen.
