What has Easter become?
Toys candy, and fun
Chickens, eggs and bunny rabbits,
Almost like all the Christmas habits.
Jesus' birth, death and reurrection
Must be avoided like a deadly infection
It's everything Jesus is not,
It's all about how much have I got.
To some of us it's hope,
A constant so we can cope.
The very name of Jesus makes us kneel
To show the praise and adoration we feel.
The brightest day of the year
Because of death now we have no fear
What was dead is now alive
Jesus in us deep down inside.
This Easter I will sing
Because of the King of Kings
He has given the blind sight
And touches all with His gracious light.
