I wrote this for my 93 year grandmother who is in Hospice care and dieing of cancer. She is expected to go Home any day now, and I find it interesting that it is at Easter time. This poem I placed on a home made card for her.
Please feel free to critique, however, and give me your honest opinions of how I could improve my wrting, thanks.
Easter is that Time of Year.
By: D. L. Huckabay Jr.

Easter is that time of year,
When we all spring outdoors without fear,
Into the warm sunshine of a brighter day,
Our souls long to play.

New flowers, bright colors fill our sight,
New life brightens our hopes and our might.
It is no wonder that at this time,
For why else shall church bells chime?

When Christ rose from the grave,
For us all, He desired to save.
Easter is that time of year,
In Him, we have no fear.
