i find it facinating, how in so many ways, the cycles of nature reflect the cycles of man...
In the first lights of day,
The snow is gleaming and white
Pure and undefiled by any man
It does not forsee the inevitable marks
Given to every living thing
As the price for existing in the world
As time passes, its beauty fades
Marked and discolored
Stomped down and pushed aside, until
No sign of its former glory
Remains
All has melted into the earth,
Consumed by the world
When He sends the rain
To wash away
Every trace of dirty slush
That lingers until the last possible moment,
It is not to destroy forever,
But to clear the place
For a fresh white creation –
A starkly renewed version
Of the old
As it comes,
Little by little,
And replaces the wearied snow of last season,
All purity is regained,
And beauty renewed
Hope is restored
The glory of the One
Who redeemed it,
Revealed
