This was loosely based on personal experience. I'm not sure that I've listed it in the correct category.I am new to having others read my work, and have been primarily a journaler. I look forward to hearing constuctive critiques. Thanks.
He walked across the hardwood floor and took her hand.

Friends and family looked on with teary eyes and smiles, as the couple began to sway.

Even after all these years, his frame still towered over hers.

Wrapping his arms around her, his mind raced back to the first time hed held his daughter, in his arms.

Such a tiny thing.

So precious.

As the music played, the notes seemed to be coming from some far away place.

Her eyes locked onto his.

That gleam in her eye had always melted him, even when she was small and bouncing on his knee.

Even now.

His large hands enveloped her delicate fingers.

Oh, that this moment would last a little longer, his heart thought.

Loved ones watched as the groom stepped forward to claim his place next to his new bride.

A proud but reluctant father willed himself to move aside.

This is how it should be.

Today is the day he was supposed to let her go.to give her away.

But he knew deep down, that a daddy can never really give his daughter away.

She would always be his.
