I wrote this poem tonight as a fond farewell to my family and friends at least for a time as I leave Tennessee to take a job in Iowa. It is my heartfelt hope that this is not an end of friendships but the beginning of new ones.
Wings
By: Ricky Flowers

As my wings begin to grow and spread
And I begin to fly away
With the power of the Savior
Guiding me day to day

I hope you never forget me
As I will think of you each day
In my prayers Iíll always remember you
And Iíll look to heaven and say

God take care of those I leave
My family and my friends
And bless the oneís that arenít so close
That one-day, weíll make amends

Where my wings will take me
Only God in heaven knows
But Iíll go wherever he leads me
Wherever His four winds blow

Though some of you are happy
Some of you are sad
But know that some things happen
And not all things are bad

One day my wings will bring me back
To look upon each face
For no matter where I go
Home will always be, this place
