This is in the line of old writing.
The deepest Stairway

And into hell we went, as close together as we could afford; halfway falling, halfway crawling, clinging to the edges and struggling to keep our footing, as if we were not even human; for the steps, which were leading down very steeply came into what we know as a pit; and, if I might add right here, for, I see no where else to put it, were in fact growing steeper and steeper along the way; and these steps, which I had never seen the like, were becoming a glassy color and almost transparent to the eye; even, holding onto the wall, I could tell this place was made under intense heat and was of a crumbly nature; it was a crumbly stone, nay, a brimstone; and, I feared , that we might, any minute, come into the presents of the Devil himself. And if that red monster, who we call Satan, would have peeked his presence in among us, fire and all; we, who fight daily against teams of demons just because we are upon this earth and, if are Christian, actually withstand the mighty foes and hold high, in the mist of innumerable forces, the name of Jesus, would have been forced to do our worst; now, what do you suppose our worst would be, seeing that Jesus was the only living soul that could sustain a sinless nature and that our lives were nothing in place of His; for, our position was of the type that His life, given once, had bought all of ours forever and ever; and, in fact, we knew, that if we could have just met up with our final foe, the Devil, in the beginning of this expedition, much like Adam and Eve did in their time, we should have, instead of falling for lies and for ignorance, made but a minuteís work with this task and this world would have been shed of itís most cunning enemy. I canít help thinking this way, you see, it is in my mind now; even though, I have walked exactly the path that the Devil drew out for sinners and that I fell for his traps at every turn, my life is in the hands of God now; and if, it was His decision to feed me to the fires of this place and allow my body to lie here dead, along with my brothers, I would not back down; for Jesus had to walk this same path, alone and tempted of the same, and did not back down; but that, for my sake, He gave his life and all His blood, so that I might make my own decisions and decide with my own mind to do right or wrong; knowing that the blood of Christ covers all my sins and makes my evilest acts unknown to all, I am vowed to uphold good and to stand in the face of evil; that, no matter, the form or fierceness of my enemy: the height or the breath of sin, the strength of the cravings that shall come, and even the pleasures that most sins are promised to bring, I will not back down from this fight or turn back into that blackness that I once called my life. My life, now, belongs to God; and, if I am to be true to my heart, which is the writing stone of Godís commandments and fleshy in nature, I will show no fear or bat no eye; nay, not even my own life should I hold dear, because now there is Salvation and no-one can pluck me from the hands of God; not even, Satan himself, who has tried since the beginning to undermine the truth of Godís promises and cause my soul to falter and change and turn from itís destination, which is with God Almighty, whoís name is Worthy.
