Seeking Things That Are Above

Colossians 3:1-3 (NASB) Ė 1If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

When we died and the life of God that lives in us is alive, we only do those things that are from above. The treasure that we temporary enjoy now cannot compare with the glory that is in Christ Jesus. What we want to reap is the heavenly Kingdom and not earthly treasures. Whatever that is done in Christ will last, and whatever that is done of this earth will perish.

Seeking those things above where Christ is seated is to set our minds on the things above. What are the heavenly things that we seek? Godís Kingdom? What is Godís Kingdom? Souls? That is the clutch of the matter. Yes, souls for the Kingdom of God. All of us have different calling in our lives. Whatever God calls us to do, it has to be sought out of the heavenly Kingdom. What is the mind of Christ in you?

As weíve died to the things of this world, our life is hidden in Christ. There are many things that we want to do. How do we seek priority to the things that are above? Are the things that we want to do sought after in prayer? Earnest and diligent prayer. Seeking Godís Kingdom means God-kind of priority. Are we doing it earnestly?

Have you died to Christ and the things of this earth? Is your life hidden in Christ? What are the hundred and one things that you want to do? Are they heavenly-bound or earth-bound? Check your priority, as to what is your heavenly perspective. God will reveal your heart as you seek Him diligently. Heb 11:6.

Are you raised with Christ and seeking things that are above? Is your life hidden in Christ? Know that only those things that are done for Christ will last, and anything that is done of the earthly realm will be burned up by fire. 1 Cor 3:12&13 (NASB) says that ďNow if any man builds upon the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each manís work will become evident; for the day will show it, because it is to be revealed with fire; and the fire itself will test the quality of each manís work.Ē

Are your works of the precious metal of gold, silver, and precious stones, or are they wood, hay, straw or stubble? Know that you can only measure these tested by the fire of God. How do you stand in this test?

Seek the heavenly Kingdom and let your life be hidden in Christ.
