TITLE: Behind The Wall By valerie chambers 11/06/06 |

Behind the wall is a lonely child
Her fear is shadowed by pain.
Behind the wall is a battered child
The victim of someone’s disdain.
Behind the wall is a crying child
Tears cleanse the dirt on her face.
Behind the wall is a broken child
Who longs for someone’s embrace.
Behind the wall is a desperate child
But no one hears her cry.
Behind the wall is a hurting child
But no one wonders why.
Behind the wall is a hungry child
She hasn’t eaten for days.
Behind the wall is a seeking child
Who longs for someone’s praise.
Behind the wall is a weary child
She doesn’t know what to do.
Behind the wall is your neighbor’s child
Waiting for someone like you.
