TRUST JESUS TODAY
A poem from first two chapters of Matthew, The Birh of Christ. I will write one from the other gospels also about the birth of Christ because each is unique and from a different perspective.
The birth of Christ was on this wise
An angel appeared from the skies
He said to Mary the virgin child
A son is coming meek and mild
Joseph don’t worry to take your wife
Go ahead and marry, it is for life
Joseph for you and yours to boast
The child is from the Holy Ghost
Jesus the Christ will be His name
All the earth will know His fame
God is with us, Emmanuel
All Gods children saved from hell
Bethlehem of David they were bound
Where the child called Jesus would be found
Herod the king, a jealous beast
Questions the wise men from the East
Find this child where ere He be
Then return and speak to me
The wise men followed where the star had told
For the child, they longed to hold
The star above came to rest
Evading Herod, they past the test
Within the house on knees did fall
And worshiped Him, Lord of all
Praise and worship their hearts astir
Gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh
In a dream an angel said
Flee to Egypt until they’re dead
With wife and child he did run
Out of Egypt I called my Son
With wroth and anger Herod said
Less than two make them dead
A cry in Rama, lamentation heard
Long ago by the prophet’s word
In Nazareth He was seen
By the prophet’s word, a Nazarene
