1) Post your first piece.
2) You must then critique the work of another member to post another piece yourself.

Following the loss of my only daughter, I adopted her only daughter who was 8 days old. Some thoughts on being in the "middle" in life.
Godspeed, Kim
I am a Sandwich!
I didn't mean to be one,
but here I am anyway
mayonaised to
my baby
and my mom.
I am
not
bologna
in the middle
nor
wimpy lettuce
flip flopping around the edges.
I am
not
chicken
(though my breast beats
love for both these ladies!)
I am a Sandwich,
though it is the baby who is a little crumb
sometimes
and
my mom
who is a little on the crusty side...
(very thankful she's not "toasted"!)
I definitely am a Sandwich
and I think
I should accept
that I am
what nourishes
their
lives.
With a enough mustard
I might make it through.
