I am praying about writing a poem for each chapter of the entire Bible. What do you think. I have several other poems written on the Psalms. Plese read and let me know your thoughts.
At the first
God gave birth
To the heavens
And the earth

All was empty
No form was found
His spirit hovered
Over water and ground

He commanded light
Let it be
And there it was
For all to see

The light God saw
And good was the light
He separated the day
Yes, from the night

He named them both
With his words did say
And that was the end
Of the very first day

He divided the waters
From the skies above
He commanded new boundaries
Fashioned with love

From the great expanse
The waters fled away
This was the morning
Of the second day

God spoke to the waters
Flee from the land
Make a firm place
For my children to stand

The dust He called earth
Out of the sea
He created a home
For you and for me

Herbs and fruit trees
Grasses and seed
Bearing its kind
To fulfill each need

Now there were two
Evening and morn
So by His great words
A third day was born

Let there be lights
To divide light from the day
For signs and for seasons
To show us the way

Lights to rule over
The day and the night
He even made stars
To give us their light

God saw the great lights
How good He did say
This was the morning
Of the fourth day

Billions of creatures
In the seas swarmed by
Every kind of bird
On wing they did fly

Multiply and grow
Fill the earth
Reproduce and prosper
With each new birth

The sky and the sea
With each one alive
This was the morning
Of day number five

From the great earth
All animals did spring
Creeping and crawling
Upon every thing

Let Us make man
Reflect from Our face
In Our image
The whole human race

Give him dominion
Over all creatures and land
Male and female alike
Sprang from His hand

He blessed it all
Grow and subdue
I made it all
Just for you

All that there is
Each fruit and each seed
I have prepared
For your every need

All that was made
Designed in the mix
At the end of the day
Called number six
