Thoughts following the loss of a child.
I remember hearing
keeping the bedroom exactly as it was found;
the day after the motherís world ended.
The bed made or unmade,
stuffed animals in a row.
all left just as the day her child flew to heaven.
And then I became that mother.
I walked into the bedroom one more time onlyÖ
I never walked into her bedroom again.
I moved out of the house.
She was not there anymore.
She was not coming back.
the bedroom anymore
or the animals
Her awards went with her and became truly golden.
Godís clouds are her pillow.
Godís skies are her sheets.
Godís wings are her blanket.
Godís love is her light in the morning.
and at noon
and at night.
