TITLE: I am Paying Someone to Kill Me!

this just happened after a very nice critique I received-just popped into my head, kind of amusing. Also true. One additional note as of l0/5/06-slowly, hubby and I are ridding ourselves of this-we saved over $100.00 last month alone on cigarettes--I also did return to my knitting after 20 some yrs--definitely keeps the hands busy but hubby says no way is he joining me!
Thank you to another critiquer. You pointed out to me the obvious.

I am a smoker. As you said, the cigarette may have smoked, but I am the sucker.

Amen and amen.

My husband and I are desperately trying to manage our finances so we have been keeping very detailed records as to where our money goes. We got a tremendous shock when we totalled up exactly how much money we spent in one single month on cigarettes.

The total? Two hundred and fifty dollars! We are, in effect, handing over a large amount of cash to people who are in fact, trying to kill us. We are doing this willingly! Paying someone to kill us! What is wrong with us?

I am trying to quit. My husband is trying to quit. This has to be one of the hardest things to break free from. What do you do with your hands? Hold pencils? Knit? I don't knit very well, and the day I see my husband with a pair of knitting needles in his hand is the day I will know for certain that this world is near its end.

I am a 'sucker'. Pray for me and hubby. I'm not willing to make another man rich while I allow him to kill me.
