TITLE: What I Wish to Write

Looking for a general critique of form and style as well as content... specifically do you feel this is a poem or more prose? Your honesty is appreciated! :o)
I so often cannot write what I wish
Ideas coming and going
Thoughts interrupted and unfocused
Yet within me I know…
Know on that which I desire to write…

Lightening streaks across the sky
Charging the air with energy, with power
Crackling, concentrated, unbridled power
White hot, unstoppable…

Wind whirling by
A breeze, gentle and refreshing
A storm, wild and uncertain
An explosion of uncontrollable strength.

Rain falling torrentially, lightly
Washing away, cleansing, destroying
Bringing and taking life
A new beginning…

The sun blaze orange
Streaming its warmth, its heat…
Touching all beneath it,
And changing all it touches.

The stars gleaming in the night sky
Up close abstract art of all colors and shapes
From below white jewels decorating the tapestry of the night sky
Beauty for Beauty’s sake, power for Power’s sake.

Nature crying out praise to its Creator,
Acting its part in this play.
The final act – the coming of the Lord,
The final show of power and victory.

All possible because of the Son
Whose pierced and broken heart was revived
Revived by the God of the stars, sun, lightening, wind and rain
Who breathed life, energy, power, divinity into His Beloved once again.

The blood flowed out and down
Down to the foot of the Cross.
And it flows once again,
In One whose hands, feet and side are scarred.

All power and authority rests in Him
The power of life, love, hope and redemption.
It courses through His veins
Available to all who will believe.

The marvelous truth of His power…
To take hold and to truly grasp
Would be to fall on my face,
Fall as though I were dead.

The world is His and all that is in it!
Ruling, reigning, knowing, waiting
Waiting for those who would choose Him…
Choose faith over reason, the impossible over the likely…

Calling only those who are willing to die,
Reading to sacrifice all that they are
So that they no longer live for themselves
But have put on Jesus Christ who loved them and gave His life for them.

The same power that raised Christ from the dead,
Sent the rain thundering down,
And the light of stars dancing above
Residing in these believers, changing them, taking them over completely.

My prayer is that I might take hold,
Take hold of the power that is in Christ
So that I may also play my part
And impact my generation with the Truth.

The truth that Jesus is the Way…
The way to life and life abundantly,
The way to a Hope that does not disappoint,
And the way to a Love that is beyond description.
