The poems I am currently submitting came early one morning, one after another. Apparently, God is tired of waiting for me to take the first step to quit smoking. I wasn't even awake yet.
These hands that have sinned against me
will never more offend me.
They held the dragons flame
and put them to my mouth to take in.
The stains on the fingers
professes that it lingers
in my temple of temporal nature.
My body is wracked with sin
that it indentures.
The poison that the Devil
would have me to welcome,
I shun now with Godís
grace and power.
These hands will never offend
Godís temple again.
