They came as saints in Zion’s name
to find their rest to obtain.
Through trials and tribulation,
death and sorrow, they will be
triumphant on the morrow.
The Lord is their Shepard
and He will lead them there.
There they will build
His kingdom so fair.
Through great faith and obedience
they journey in His Name
across the plains and mountain chains.
Through deep snow and freezing rivers
that sometimes break their icy covers.
Their frozen feet trudge on in faith
that they might enter Zion’s gate.
Evenings come with joy and laughter.
They have made a few miles closer.
Morning comes with fear and sorrow.
They find their friends frozen faces
looking to heaven without any traces.
Their journey’s end has come much quicker.
Now they will rest and wait for the others.
A prophet hears of their journeys trials.
He sends a team to rescue the weary.
The saints who have made their journey already
now embark to bring the many
who are cold and hungry to the land of plenty..
Lost, but now found, in a blizzard of winter,
the rescuers carry them across broken rivers.
They sacrifice themselves for the sake of their brethren
and lead them to Zion where the saints await them.
With open arms they take them in
and nurse them back to health again.
Though death and sorrow, trials and affliction,
they praise their God with never ending adoration
