This is more of a song than it is a poem. If you are at all familiar with the group "Point of Grace", then try to read this poem with their style of vocalization in mind. The rhythm should be somewhat driven and forward moving, a lot like the theme.
With her head up straight and her shoulders back,
She said “we’re moving forward; we’re not looking back!”
“Who is this ‘we’,” the asked, and “where will you go?”
“My Savior and I” she said “and as to ‘where’ well I just don’t know!”
But I’ll follow him for the rest of my days.
I’ve got lessons to learn in so many ways.
I’m gonna follow my Jesus right up to the end.
And if I had to do it over I’d choose Him again!
Ten years later she’s still moving along.
She’s made lots of choices; some right and some wrong.
But one’s thing’s for sure, she’s still following Him.
“With God on my side” she says “how can I help but win?”
She’s following Him for the rest of her days.
She’s got lessons to learn in so many ways.
She’s gonna follow her Jesus right up to the end.
If she had to do it over, she’d choose Him again!
Years go by, she’s still the same.
But ev’ry now and then she hears Him call her name.
“I’m ready Lord” she says “do as you please”
and for one last time she get down on her knees and says:
“I’ve followed You all of my days.
You’re taught me so much in so many ways!
I’ve followed you, now I’m at the end.
If I had to do it over I’d choose you again and again!”
