so many times it is much easier to believe that my problems are with specific people, if I get caught up in that lie and do not take my stand in the proper place, I risk losing all, this is what I look like when I am at war in the flesh
Face to face they squarely stand
drawing lines in the sand
protecting their own
with drawn swords in their hands
lies beneath their feet
find homes in the hollow of their hearts
deceptions blind their eyes
as the oasis of threat grows in their minds
they brandish the sword and the word
that thrums with the battle heat
determined to kill the fear
or to die trying in bitter defeat
they will not rest and accept no peace
only an uneasy truce replenishes their soul
no white flags fly above their grounds
no retreat will a trumpet sound
Death or victory is all they know
and so the battle rages on
soaking the sand with blood
intended for a better life.
