Psalms 93: 3, 4 ďThe floods have lifted up, O Lord, The floods have lifted up their voice; The floods lift up their waves. 4The Lord on high is mightier Than the noise of many waters, Than the mighty waves of the sea. ď(New King James) The Lord is there and remains secure. One needs to build a solid foundation on Him, first through salvation and then through a personal growing relationship. The Lord will bring one through the literal floods and winds of devastation. What about the emotional trauma?
In verse four scripture says the Lord is mightier or more powerful than the noise of many of waters. He is secure and stronger than any physical foundation. He is a solid rock and an anchor for the soul. One can find shelter and warmth in Him regardless of how hard the winds of life may blow and how high the waters of emotional stress mount.
As the waters recede and the winds become only a breeze, the destruction becomes very evident. You wonder if you can ever rebuild the life that is strewn all around you. Yet your feet remain secure on the foundation of His Word, because from spending time with Him. You learn how He wants you to rebuild your life. You begin the moment-by-moment daily reconstruction.
You begin by removing the muck and damp bitterness, because you donít want this to cover the walls with moldy residue of anger and resentment. With the help of the Holy Spirit clean up is under way. In working with the Holy Spirit His warmth begins to bring hope and freshness, as the musty smell of sinful habits start to evaporate...
Now you advance upstairs and you see the walls of self protection need to be removed. Because the Lord wants to help you rebuild walls of confidence and trust in Him.
Next comes down the crumbly dry sheet rock of false lies from Satan and old friends. In its place comes the solid sheet rock of truth is put up with new friends who are stabilized in the Word and work of the Lord. God sent this crew to help you form new healthy relationships.
As you observe the reconstruction now itís time to redesign the interior of the house. First the walls are painted with Godís comforting shades of grace and unconditional love. You notice that you are feeling more at ease with who you are becoming as a child of God.
The rooms of doubt and shame are being redone with fresh paint of forgiveness and confidence of who are you to the Lord. How He delights in you and desires to give you the very best.
The entrance way is almost beyond description. The walls are done in an inviting shade of red. As you enter there is an atmosphere of cleaning and being renewed with life abundantly! Then hanging from the ceiling is a chandelier of radiant light that dispels any darkness from entering the house.
Finally you can move into your new house. Even with all its newness and grandeur, it still feels like a house and not a home. The rooms feel empty. But wait, you hear a knock at the door. As you open the door and invite Jesus to move in as a permanent friend, you sense a feeling of being at home in His presence. Home at last.
