In 2003-04 I began to really hit bottom with dealing with a mental disorder. Out of desparation I called the community crisis line. Norma, one of the intervention specialist suggested that I write a poem. I exclaimed, I' can't! I was heavily sedated with about 20 psych meds and it was extreemly hard to concentrate. So, I began with the line, It hurts in a way to think... This poem came out of that experience. Thank you. You may also reach me at dreamwriter45@adelphia.net
02-2004
It hurts in a way to think.
To motivate, to contemplate
It might be medication or rationalization.
Exasperation envelopes my mind.
It hurts in a way to think.
It hurts in a way to find
What has been secret and hidden
It might be spiritual or psychological
What has taken away my mind
It hurts in a way to find
It hurts in a way to be
What is truth and certain
Many decisions and contemplations
overpowering my mind
It hurts in a way to be
It hurts in a way to know
What has been suffered and given
It was sacrificial and supernatural
I cannot conceive this with my mind
It hurts in a way to know
