A Place in This World
By: Rick Flowers

So many people are searching
For somewhere to belong
They look around their world
And wonder where they went wrong

They wonder why they get up each day
And feel so unattached
Lonely, depressed, unsatisfied
Feeling their world has crashed

Always asking themselves
What is my purpose in life
But the answer evades them
And it cuts like a knife

Longing to know where they belong
Never goes away
Their always listening for that little voice
Day after day after day

I suppose most of us are like this
Always feeling something’s amiss
Most of the time pretending
Never knowing what our purpose is

I believe in order to be fulfilled
To be happy and alive
We must always search for this purpose
For this we should always strive

So many people never achieve this in life
They are too far out of touch
To involved with everything else
Or they just don't care so much

Until we start to live what is in our heart
Instead of what's in our head
We will continue to wilt and whither
Like a flower that hasn't been fed

My hope for you my brothers or sisters
Is that someday you'll find
The peace that passes all understanding
And that you leave your troubles behind

That you find happiness, joy and love
Far beyond compare
More than you'll ever need
And the rest of it you share

I hope that you become someone
I'm proud to call my friend
Helping those who need you
That's all that matters in the end

Once you have achieved these things
You'll be changed beyond compare
Your soul will have found it's rightful place
And one day, meet Jesus in the air.
