HELP TOUR

It's easy to critique the works of others and get your work critiqued. Just follow the steps below:

1) Post your first piece.

2) You must then critique the work of another member to post another piece yourself.

3) For each critique you give, you earn 1 credit that can be used to post another one of your writings.

4) You can build up credits to be used at another time by giving critiques to others.

TITLE: Whisper to the Wind

The following piece is actually song lyrics, but since that is not a genre from which I could choose, I figured poetry was the next best place to put it.

Because it is (or will be eventually) a song, the rhythm doesn't flow as well as it would were it "only" a poem. That's one of the wonderful things about song writing! :)
I whisper to the wind
thinking no one else can hear
sharing sorrows, joy, and pain
with the darkness and the rain

I whisper to the wind
and listen for reply
the sound of silence fills my ears
only my lonely shadow hears

why is it that in the silence
I feel like I might burst?
why are my joys amplified?
what makes the pains hurt worse?
why is it that I sometimes cry
for no reason I can find?
is there someone listening in the night
or have I lost my mind?

I whisper to the wind
wishing someone else could hear
I share my sorrows, joy, and pain
with the starlight and the rain

I whisper to the wind
praying You can hear
is that the echo of my whispering
or do I feel you listening?
as I whisper to the wind
