War causes sorrow, anger and pain.
It can overwhelm with its stress and strains.
From World War I to Viet Nam,
so many buried, too many gone.
The pain lingers on from daylight to dusk.
It never fails to leave its ever-present mark.
Wounds to the body and scars to the mind,
war has left many memories behind.
I’ve seen what it has done to you,
and now war has touched me, too.
May the world remember
what it has cost us to be free.
