Please give me a good hard critique on this one, thank you. I want it to be a worthwhile read.
Did he truly love her? That's what it said, but there had been so many of them who had used those words and abused her heart. She wanted to believe him, she wanted it to be true, but how could she know for sure? She read further, looking for some sort of clue to verify that what he wrote was true. Skimming it, she found more. Another promise, another lie; they always leave. No one ever stuck around for her, so why should he? Promise after promise, there was no way this could be truth. They never stuck to their promises, none of them. What a joke, she thought and tossed it to the floor. A line caught her eye as it fell and as quickly as she dropped it, she snatched it up again. There it was! The proof was there. Her hands trembled as she brought it to her lips to kiss it. The tears spilled from her eyes, and she smiled. He loved her.

(1)Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
