Sometimes doubt comes into a relationship where a person has to be reassured that you are hearing their concerns...this was written in response to one of those moments!
You wonder if I listen,
If I really hear what
you say.
Or if I close my ears
to you, letting my
attention drift away.
You wonder if I’m true
to you, or if someone
else has captured my
heart.
But deep within where
love does live, you are
Its most treasured part.
I love you more than can
be measured, much more
than one can ever see.
I also retain every spoken
word, inside my heart
that you speak to me.
So yes, I always listen
to you, to everything
that your lips do say.
And always will your
love have my hearts ear,
for by your side I will
forever stay.
