Psalms 8:4&5 "What is man that you are mindful of him or the son of man that you care for him? You have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor."

As I thought today about winter one of the things that came to mind was the age old tradition of making a snowman. Interesting that as I thought about snowmen, God laid these two verses of scripture on my mind and a couple
of thoughts to share from them.

Here they are: snowmen are made for just a
short time and they don't really seem to be that important. Isn't that true of mankind? Of all the things God created we seem to be here for a short time compared to trees or the earth or even God himself. We have no real worth other than that. For some reason we are important to God. Why?

Maybe because we were created by HIM in HIS own image just like a child creates a snowman that sort of looks like someone he knows. I mean he dresses them in clothes from someone he knows and only the creator can truly enjoy all there
is to enjoy about the snowman.

Just when you get used to him being around
he is gone. Just like us he has a limited life span but while the snow man
last he has no other purpose but to bring joy and pleasure to his maker.
The answer to David's question in Psalms 8 is that we are the pleasure of
God while here. It was for the pleasure of creating us that HE made us. That
is why HE is mindful of us.

That is why HE sent HIS Son to redeem us and
that is why, like the little girl in frosty the snow man, HE will do what HE
must to save us from fading away. Aren't you glad that God cares for HIS
snowmen and snowwomen? I know I am!

Let us take a few minutes today and
thank God for HIS love and offer to bring HIM the pleasure HE created us to
bring HIM.
You know I will never look at a snowman the same again I hope you won't
either.
