Sometimes in life we want to learn what God's will is for us, later to dislike it.
This is my first attempt at a sonnet. I didn't focus too much on the accented and unaccented syllables, mainly just the rhyme scheme and number of syllables per line. I would appreciate any critiques. :)
Often in life's wonderful journey,
I'm walking down that “old familiar” path,
That path where Jesus took away my load,
Inquiring for wisdom truth and learning.
Inside I feel a voice spurning,
Some sins I knew not of, thus being shown.
Rejecting I had done a thing, I moaned,
But then began my triumphant turning.
For the Lord knoweth what is down my path,
Maybe subjects I'm never to behold.
It is my appointment just to trust Him,
The One who freely died on my behalf.
Upon His garment I must firmly hold,
So that I may never wander far from Him.
