I'm not sure if this is finshed yet or if I should add another verse. Let me know what you think.
A dirty jeep traveling down a dusty warfront road
Tired soldiers looking weary from their stressful load
A young man looks over at a man even younger than him
He says, “It’s where you’re going that is important, not where you’ve been.”
“I’ve seen life’s trials make the best men turn out wrong,
So hold you’re head up high and listen to the angel’s song.”
CHORUS:
And the angels sang…ooh-o-o-o-o-o-o
Just a few months later a mother reads a stained note card
It said, “I was riding with your son and he told me where you were
He told me about Jesus, told me to walk on the straight path
And a few short seconds later I was lying on my back
I heard the bomb explode our jeep and only a few survived
Your son threw himself on top of me, that’s the only reason I’m alive
All he said in his last breath was “Tell my mom I’ll see her soon.
And what I heard next was hard to describe, but amidst the frightening boom
CHORUS:
The angels sang…ooh-o-o-o-o-o-o
