TRUST JESUS TODAY
This is part of a devotional I'm writing.
And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we donít get discouraged and give up. Galatians 6:9 The Living Bible
ďMom, I need some money.Ē my daughter said.
ďWhat for honey?Ē I asked.
ďItís Dadís birthday tomorrow and we need to get a present for him,Ē she stated.
I thought, ďReally God? You want me to give my children money to get a birthday present for my ex-husband?Ē I wanted to tell them no. I handed my teenage son and daughter some money.
Do you ever feel as if God is asking too much from you? That you have nothing left to give? Or feel like life has not been fair to you?
When I feel weary of showing Godís love to others, I stop and think of Godís great love for me. Jesus gave up His glory and power, disguised himself as a human, and died a criminal death on a cross. All has given for you and me. No one knows you better than God. No one loves you more than Him.
When I feel empty and discouraged, I fill myself up with the Word of God. Letís get our battery charged with the life-giver. The Word plus time equals strength.
My children found a great gift for their Dad. I received peace from my Father in heaven. I was reminded kindness showcases Godís love. I will choose to be kind even when I donít feel like it.
What can you do today to show Godís love and kindness to someone? People all around you are hurting. Be a blessing to someone today.
Father, give me eyes to see the hurting all around me and a willing heart to be generous to others. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
