Letter to my grandaughter …..Bethany Hope

Oh gift of love from angel’s arms received,
Sweet fairy breath upon a mother’s breast,
Oh long awaited darling bud of heaven,
All future generations now be blessed.

Grateful spirits softly here surround you,
So long ago our Saviour breathed your name,
Wrought you in exquisite form and gave you
To hearts that praise for you are all our gain.

I pray you joy and peace in every blessing,
May Christ and Christ alone be in your soul.
I pray you strength and wisdom and great kindness,
May Love be your pursuit and Love your goal.

Grow sweetly darling daughter like your mother,
Dwell in the secret place of the most High,
Love behind, beside and on before you,
In the shelter of His wings your spirit fly.

Sleep sweetly now beloved child among us,
My love for you shall never e’er depart,
Near or far, upon the shores of heaven,
I hold you always deeply in my heart.
