I haven't written a poem in a long time. I had a few minutes before I went to sleep last night, Jotted this down and when I woke up I read it and am totally in love with it. Even if it's not what you would call brilliant.
He Already Knows
Here I am writing, again
A simple letter I'll never send
To Him, who already knows the end.
He's already seen my teardrop stains
That smear the words He's already changed
And knows by heart how they're arranged.
He already knows every word said.
Before I write it, He's already read.
And the reason? He knows far ahead.
You would think it's frustrating to me
To only write the things that will be.
But it's not. Oh, don't you see?
How wonderful it is to cast
Beatiful words that last and last,
God given words for me to grasp.
But if He took these words away
And I had nothing left to say
To bring Him praise in such a way,
I'm sure I'd sleep just as sound
As if these words were never found.
My care for Him would still abound.
Because if I couln't find each word that shows
My deep love for Him and how it grows,
I'd still remember, He already knows.
He already knows, He already knows.
