In my loneliness, I am not alone
though sometimes I wish you would hide your face
and release me from your loving embrace
so that I might feel the hatred I've sown.
And I wish that my heart were not so known
that the tears I've hidden, still you can taste!
And why do you put me in such a place
that none can tell me apart from your own?
And gently, you squeeze my murderous hand
and pull me into your arms once again,
saying what only my heart needs to hear--
words that comfort and still my raging fears.
In a moment I fall to kiss your feet
and cry, "Oh, my Father! Please, forgive me!"
