1) Post your first piece.

2) You must then critique the work of another member to post another piece yourself.

3) For each critique you give, you earn 1 credit that can be used to post another one of your writings.

I wrote this when my niece was in the hospital and no one knew what was wrong. After a week they found out she had a form of menningitis that hasn't been in the U.S. for over 20 years.
I walk down the hospital corridor
and I pray for the families
behind each and every door
I pray that God will give them peace.

For the mother who hurts
because her child is hurting
and she's scared because she doesn't know
what tomorrow will bring.

For the father who worries for his child
and his wife.
Who'd give anything to make it better,
even his own life.

For Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and friends
who try to offer comfort,
but don't know what to say
because they don't know how this thing ends.

For the doctors and nurses I also pray
for wisdom and understanding
because although they see this everyday
It's not their child who in the bed lay
I pray that God gives them words to explain
Just what it is thats causing the pain.
