“It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth; you made... summer.” (Psalms 73:17 NIV).
Summer Splendor
Sunshine embraces God’s creation
carpets of green canopies of shade
palettes of red, yellow, pink, and blue
roses, hibiscus, and lavenders
Morning dew kisses velvet petals
shimmering blades of grass and ivies
soft breezes carry heady perfumes
gardenias, roses, orange blossoms
Butterflies with fragile wings alight
on calla lilies and sweet williams
bumblebees, humming birds, honey bees
drink in sweet nectar from begonias
Robins build nests babies fly away
Redheaded woodpeckers tap a tune
meadowlarks and mockingbirds singing
joyful tunes, lilts to our Creator
Hush, a distant rumble, skies darken
gusts, then robust winds blast all nature
flashes of lightning claps of thunder
showers saturate all thirsts are quenched
Stillness, dark clouds leave, sunshine bursts forth
flora and fauna are glistening
bedecked in diamonds and glitter
bird-egg blue skies boast a bright rainbow
Sleeping lakes reflect back the hot sun
rustling streams, tinkling springs meander
through wooded terrains and grassy banks
strewn with wildflowers green leafy ferns
Bountiful fields of clover and grains
tall stalks with silky heads look upward
bathed in sunshine waving in the breeze
proud orchards display fruity bouquets
Lowing cows, bleating sheep in pastures
horses grazing in meadows with young
deer and fawns drinking from crystal creeks
gaggles of geese swimming in cool ponds
Twilight beckons, lightening bugs aglow
echoes of katydids and night owls
crickets, cicadas, frogs on the pond
golden moonbeams shadows on the lawn
Twinkling orbs are close enough to touch
signals of hope, promises to come
Gods blanket of love and protection
covers those who place their trust in Him
