Thanks guys!
My Father’s Race
Sometimes Father, I can barely hold on.
I look forward to see the finish line right
Before my very eyes.
My heart palpitating inside me like a
Pandemonium.
Father, can you feel this heart raging?
It’s beating so hard; I’m running this
All for you.
Cant you see me? I begged you for so
Long to let me run in this race,
I laced on new shoes, and set this
Very pace.
I raced against me and the ticking clock.
There wasn’t a moment when I didn’t
Force myself to pursue it,
a dream that you gave me,
This person I am who you made me!
Face flat on the ground, the rain
is pounding, pounding down.
Father, Father I can’t seam to get up.
I’ve stumbled and fell beneath my
own weight.
When did you abandon me, and why?
I thought that you loved me,
But when I cried out for you
Nobody ever came.
Peeling my face up off of the ground
I teach myself over the things
That you said, “Trust in me always.”
And you told me, “let go.”
But I gripped on tighter, Father.
Closing my eyes shut, I finally let go,
And the sky around me opened up.
And now I’m running towards the
Finish line
Racing ahead.
