This one is for Gibson, who keeps asking me to write a poem with more spacing. So i did. This poem is mostly about making mistakes in writing, crossing, scribbling them out while in search for the right words. Or at least the words that sound satisfying. Anyway, here it is! Tell me what you think. This doesn't look like i how i want it to. Faithwriters program wont allow "middle" spacing. So every line under the first (except for the one line in parentheses) is in the middle. Its one of those stagger poems. it would look like:
***** <-with this line in the middle.
What I wrote.
Iím so frustrated
When my mind is empty.
I rattle out the words,
But they donít feel right.
I wrestle with my mind
To think of something better.
So I scribble.
All over the page.
It feels good to scribble.
But itís somewhat humiliating to prefer scribbles over words.
But it can be difficult to find
The right word youíre looking for.
Sometimes I scratch out
The entire sentence, and start it over.
Then I have to find those right words
All over again. And again.
Before I can accept what I wrote down.
Because it looks funny.
And I donít like weird, funny things
If its not meant to be funny.
So I scribble some more
All over my pages in red ink.
(It feels somewhat important to write in red ink)
To get the right words down,
And then Iím satisfied with my page.
Scribbles and all.
