Only sunshine would produce a barren desert.
Without the clouds, the land would be fruitless and drear.
It takes the refreshing rain, to prepare the soil;
And to produce the things often thought to be dear.
In our lives, we desire the sparkling sunlight.
We donít appreciate the need of our lifeís clouds.
Perhaps, we donít understand that they are needed,
Until at the feet of our Savior, we have bowed.
Look at the clouds recorded in Godís Holy Word.
In Genesis, the cloud of assurance is there,
With His bow of promise, mankind was shown His love,
In Exodus, the cloud of Presence, showed His care!
In Leviticus, there was the cloud of Presence,
Filling the Holy of Holies, on the Mercy Seat.
It followed the Priest out, and filled the whole temple;
Showing Godís acceptance of all people they meet...
In Job, we see clouds of Godís wisdom, and grace;
Godís perfection, in beauty and strength of our sky
Then, thereís the clouds of the much needed latter rains,
Which bring forth a refreshing, when the land is dry!
Thereís the brighter cloud, from which the voice of our God,
Testified that Jesus was His beloved Son.
Then, clouds that are a sign and a promise of rain;
The refreshing of a life about to succumb.
The clouds of witnesses that surround every life,
Our encouragement, to continue our lifeís race.
Then, thereís the cloud that took our Savior to Heaven
His victory sent the Comforter, through His grace.
Thereís the cloud of torment, reserved for the wicked;
When they have spurned the pleading of Christís final call,
But then, there appears the great white cloud of glory,
As Jesus comes back to reap those whoíve given all.
Thereís a purpose, as clouds enter a Christianís life.
Search for the purpose that only Christ can reveal.
The valleys and clouds will bring a great refreshing
And, weíll walk more fully, within Godís Holy will.
Letís fly above all the gloomy, billowing clouds,
In the Light that reveals all the beauty below.
Rejoice in discipline, and comfort of His arms,
Showing the love of Jesus, wherever we go!
