Matthew 10:42 KJV And whosoever shall give a drink unto these little ones, a cup of cold water, only in the name of a diciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
How many times do we(quote) God's Word
And repeat it in the words of man?
We often miss the depth of the thought
That was contained in God’s true plan.
Even"a cup of water given”
Will not be forgotten by our God.
Scripture says, “a cup of cold water”
Eases the path the traveler must trod.
When this illustration was given
It held a greater connotation.
Cold water took a lot of effort,
To provide, in that great nation.
Then, there was no refrigeration,
From a deep well the water was drawn.
It surely took great effort and love;
Before the opportunity was gone.
The illustration that Jesus gave;
We’re to serve, not take the easy way.
Without just a little sacrifice,
We’re not following Him each day.
Disciples must go the extra mile,
Having the love shown by our Savior.
We need to take the Words of God,
Allowing a change in our behavior.
We’ll brighten the path of the weary;
Helping to lighten their heavy load.
We’ll do it, not for the rewards,
But helping others to Heaven’s abode!
